  • Beilschmiedia Taraire

    Brilliant, under utilized native tree. Taraire has large leathery looking leaves which have a red tinge. Makes a great canopy tree. Berries are dark purple and are favorites to wood pigeons. It will only tolerate a light frost, and is best provided with a wind break when young. Prefers a good moist, free draining soil. Tolerates shade, but its form is fuller if grown in full sun.
